Infrastructure Coordinator

United Communities at Joint Base MDL, NJ is seeking a full‑time Infrastructure Coordinator to join our team.
Job Summary
The Infrastructure Coordinator is responsible for a wide variety of skilled and unskilled tasks related to the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of our multi‑family housing complexes. This role focuses on utilities, equipment, and major infrastructure projects while leading a team of 2–3 employees. Open availability is required for emergency situations.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Electrical
- Perform routine electrical inspections of streetlights
- Repair electrical components as needed
- Assist with specialized electrical repairs
Plumbing
- Perform routine plumbing inspections of sewer manholes
- Identify and repair water main and hydrant issues
- Complete annual sewer jetting and hydrant flushing
Lift Stations
- Conduct routine inspections of lift stations
- Clean grease and debris as necessary
Mechanical & Equipment
- Perform routine mechanical repairs on major equipment
- Operate backhoe and other heavy equipment
- Establish and complete preventative maintenance programs
- Maintain a valid CDL license
Inventory & Materials
- Identify, catalog, and procure materials used in infrastructure operations
Operations & Maintenance
- Stay current on best practices and technology related to infrastructure work
- Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance
- Recognize when specialized expertise or outside services are required
Snow Removal
- Participate in property snow removal operations as needed
- Coordinate timing and response actions with the Maintenance Manager
Additional Duties
- Lead and support a team of 2–3 employees
- Overtime may be required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure, public works, utilities, facilities maintenance, or a related field
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and utility systems
- Experience operating heavy equipment (backhoe, loaders, or similar)

Valid CDL or ability to obtain and maintain one
- Ability to respond to emergency situations, including nights, weekends, and overtime
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lead and work effectively with a small team
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in Public Works, municipal utilities, or military installation infrastructure
- Experience supporting multi‑family housing communities
- Supervisory or team‑lead experience
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
- Familiarity with inventory management and procurement processes
- Certifications related to utilities, equipment operation, or facilities maintenance
Schedule & Availability
- Full‑time position
- Must be available for emergency response, including off‑hours and overtime as required
